Aghara Development Association (ADA) has urged the governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello to sight the proposed university in Kogi West Senatorial District in Aghara community, Kabba/Bunu LGA of Kogi State.
The governor had announced the establishment of a state university in the district and that has made a lot of people commended the governor for the wonderful reformed in education sector in the state.
The President of ADA, Chief Shogo Baiyekuhi said the establishment in Aghara community will bring overwhelming development to the place.
He emphasize that the community has been a peaceful place that requires such monumental development.
The group urge the governor to make use of the available land mass that is in the community for the university knowing fully well that there had been an ancient Government Secondary School in the community with a lot of infrastructures where most prominent people in the area like Commissioner of Information Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, Hon. Femi Balemo, Prof. Gbenga Omoga and so on graduated from.
The government secondary School in the community is enough to take off the university while new structures can follow subsequently.
The Aghara community possess one of the largest land mark in the region and with favourable weather conditions for academic learning.
Research have shown that if the newly established University is situated in Aghara community, the government of Kogi State will have less work to do in terms of land clearing and site preparation for building infrastructure because the place is of good topography which can easily accommodate any type of high rising storey building and other terrace structures.
The group called on His Excellency (the white lion) to carry out his findings on this community in other to have an economic viable academic citadel within a short period of time.
I will suggest it being sighted in between Origah and Iyara due to the availability of flat plain of land that can accommodate any magnitude of structure suitable for an institution.
