The Olufaki of Ifaki-Ekiti, HRM Oba John Adegbenro Falore (Ajigbade III) has appealed to Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State to return the University of Science and Technology, Ifaki (USTI).

USTI was merged with the University of Ado-Ekiti now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti by the administration of Kayode Fayemi in 2010.

Olufaki made the appeal on Saturday during the turbaning and bestowing of Chieftancy titles by the Ifaki Muslim Community at Kadilat Hotel, Ifaki-Ekiti on some deserving indigenes.

The monarch said that Ifaki Community deserved the return of the full-fledged university because the reason the government gave for the merger at that time has been defeated.

He said the EKSG under the same Kayode Fayemi established additional tertiary institutions in Isan and Ikere-Ekiti.

He said former governors of Kayode Fayemi and Ayo Fayose promised Ifaki Community that they will return the University but failed to fulfill their promises.

He appeal to the state government to return USTI for equity and fairness.

The monarch pledged the support of the Ifaki Community to the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in his quest to develop Ekiti State.
