The Nigerian Civil Society has praised the swift and decisive action taken by the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, following an incident at Regional Hotel, Lagos.

The Chairman ordered the immediate arrest and investigation of the operatives involved, a move that demonstrates a high level of discipline and professionalism.

In a statement signed by Adams Otakwu, Chairperson of the Conference of Civil Societies and Coordinator of Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMICO), highlighted the importance of this action. He emphasized that it reassures the public that the EFCC is committed to upholding the highest standards of conduct and will not tolerate any form of brutality or excessive force.

The Civil Society anticipates that the EFCC will continue to perform its duties with the utmost respect for human rights. They believe this incident will serve as a strong deterrent to potential offenders within the commission.
