The Executive Chairman of Ekiti East Local Government Area, Hon. Samuel Olusegun Ojo, has been confirmed as the National Treasurer of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON).
During the National Executive Council meeting of the association in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, in the early hours of Tuesday, members also elected Bello Lawal, the Chairman of Kaita LGA in Katsina State, as the new ALGON President.
The newly appointed Treasurer emphasized that, under the leadership of the new administration, they will continue to promote and uphold the core values of Local Government administration, working in collaboration with the Federal Government and the Legislative Arm.
Hon. Ojo pledged to maintain transparency and ensure that all members are involved in the execution of his duties.
He further expressed his commitment to fostering unity and collective progress within the association, ensuring that every decision made will reflect the interests of the entire body.
Hon. Ojo vowed to strengthen the financial integrity of ALGON, promoting accountability and prudent management of resources.
Meanwhile, the Ekiti East Council boss has expressed his appreciation to the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for the rare opportunity given to him to serve humanity.
He acknowledged the Governor’s unwavering support and trust, which paved the way for his emergence as the National Treasurer.
Hon. Ojo promised to justify this confidence by delivering effective service and contributing meaningfully to the development of Local Government administration across the nation.
