The Global News reports that the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted hazy conditions with sunshine from Saturday to Monday nationwide.
According to NiMet’s weather outlook released on Friday in Abuja, there is a forecast of moderate dust haze on Saturday, with horizontal visibility ranging from 2km to 5km over the northern region throughout the forecast period.
NiMet indicates an expectation of a sunny sky within a hazy atmosphere over North Central cities and inland cities of the South. Additionally, the forecast anticipates partly cloudy skies within a hazy atmosphere along the coastal belt of the country.
The forecast also incorporates the possibility of localized thunderstorms later in the day over certain areas in Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross Rivers State.
“For Sunday, moderate dust haze with horizontal visibility of 2km to 5km is anticipated over the North and the North Central regions during the forecast period.
“Sunny skies in a hazy atmosphere are expected over the inland cities of the South during the forecast period. Patches of clouds in a hazy atmosphere are expected over the coastal cities throughout the forecast period.
“Also for Monday, moderate dust haze with horizontal visibility of 2km to 5km is anticipated over the North, North Central, and the inland cities of the South during the forecast period.
“Airline operators are advised to obtain updated weather reports from NiMet for effective planning in their operations,” the agency said.
