The king of Ewu Kingdom in Delta State, HRM Clement Ikolo Ogenerukeywe, has been flown to Abuja for questioning by the military authorities.

The Global News had reported that the monarch voluntarily surrendered himself to the police after the military declared him wanted in connection with the killing of 17 soldiers in the Okuama Community.

Accompanied by the Commanding Officer of the 63 Brigade Nigeria Army Asaba, the Delta State Police Commissioner, and other senior military officers, the monarch was escorted to Asaba International Airport. From there, he boarded an Air Peace plane that departed around 9:10 am.

The Traditional ruler was among the eight individuals wanted by the military for their suspected involvement in the killing of 17 military personnel in Okuama, Delta State, recently.

SP Bright Edafe, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer had earlier confirmed the arrest and handing over of the monarch to the military.

According to Police Commissioner Abaniwonda Olufemi, the monarch “turned himself in” shortly after the Defence Headquarters declared him and seven others wanted on Thursday.

Arriving at the police command headquarters precisely at 6:41 pm, the monarch denied allegations of involvement in the killing of 17 soldiers in the community during an interview on TVC before surrendering himself to the police.
