The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in the Southwest of the country has put forward a demand for a new national minimum wage set at N794,000.
The demand for the minimum wage of N794,000 was communicated through Funmi Sessi, the chairperson of the Lagos State chapter of the union.
The Global News reports that Sessi presented the demand during her presentation at the ongoing public hearing of the Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage in Ikeja, Lagos, on Thursday.
She said that the demand was jointly agreed on by all the members of the union in the South West .
The Global News had reported that the 37-member tripartite committee on minimum wage was inaugurated by President Bola Tinubu through the Vice President Kashim Shettima.
